Studies show that nearly 50% of all people believe the most memorable feature when meeting someone new is their smile.

Why not make your first impression the best impression with a beautiful smile enhanced by porcelain veneers?

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin pieces of porcelain which are bonded to the front portion of a tooth. This simple process is a permanent dental cosmetic treatment which restores both the function and natural beauty of your teeth.

Porcelain veneers are most often recommended by cosmetic dentists for discolored, gapped, broken, uneven or poorly aligned teeth. Veneers are customized to perfect the size, shape, and color of the affected teeth and to match the surrounding teeth. The result is a beautiful, confident smile which will last for many years to come.

How are porcelain veneers put on?

Dr. Gary Kodish uses modern dental technologies to perform this simple and painless procedure. A local anesthetic is used to ensure you are comfortable and pain-free throughout the entire process.

The procedure begins by trimming a very small amount of the tooth enamel to make space for the veneer to fit properly. Your dentist then makes a mold of your tooth in order to customize the veneer to fit the tooth. A temporary veneer is then applied and worn while the permanent veneer is being made in-house or at a laboratory.

When the permanent veneer is ready, you will need to make a second visit to your dentist. At this time, the temporary veneer is removed and the permanent veneer is applied using a permanent cement.

It usually takes two visits to complete the procedure.

What are the benefits of porcelain veneers?

  • Porcelain veneers are so natural looking, it is virtually impossible to tell the difference between natural teeth and veneers.
  • Compared to crowns, veneers require less of the natural tooth to be removed during the process and are better tolerated by gum tissue.
  • Veneers can make the darkest teeth bright, and are resistant to coffee, wine, and cigarette stains.
  • Veneers can last for upwards of 25 years if they are taken care of properly through regular brushing and flossing.

A recent study conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry found a link between an attractive smile and a person’s success in business and romance. Nothing says confidence more than an amazing smile!
